    The First City Monument Bank of Nigeria has called for applications for the  FCMB HERCCELERATE Program 2024.

    The FCMB HERCCELERATE Program is one of the initiative of the organization’s SheVentures program.

    SheVentures, FCMB’s women-focused business division, and FCMB’s innovation hub, Hub One, presents HERCCELERATE.

    This accelerator program is designed to position early-stage, high-potential women-led technology startups in Nigeria for investments and rapid growth.

    HERCCELERATE aims to provide selected female founders with coaching, grant funding, technological tools and access to potential investors.

    Up to 40 women-led tech startups will be selected to participate in this inaugural edition of HERCCELERATE.

    Over the next five years, our goal is to empower up to 200 women-led tech startups.

    The FCMB HERCCELERATE Entrepreneurship Program provides a sum of N1.5 million grant to support high-potential women-led technology startups in Nigeria for investments and rapid growth.

    Relevance of the organization

    • Grassroot non-profit or non-for-profit organization, of general interest, with official accreditation and eligible to   philanthropic funds.
    • Organization that cannot distribute any part of its revenues to its members, directly or indirectly.
    • Organization with more than two years of official existence (unless the organization has a strong documented innovative   component responding to a specific need).
    • Organization with a minimum of 200 beneficiaries per year
    • In France, structure able to issue tax receipt.

    Nature of the activity/project for which the request is made

    • The final beneficiaries must be highly vulnerable women or girls: In situation of poverty/underprivileged (absence or lack of revenues, homelessness, single parent, Isolation In rural areas or In the suburbs, etc.), victims of violence, refugees or in situation of disability.
    • For structure based outside the EU, and in order for the territoriality exception to apply, the final beneficiaries must be women or girls in vulnerable, precarious ou emergency situations.
    • Beyond emergency relief, the activity focuses on women or girls’ empowerment, encouraging especially social and professional integration or access to education.

    Mentees must be…

    • Able to access the internet and meet with their mentor online for a minimum of two hours a month
    • Able to complete several feedback questionnaires by the stated deadline
    • Willing to work with a mentor to build their business and personal development skills and confidence
    • Nominated by one of our local mentee referral partners where possible

    Mentees are expected to…

    • Meet online with their mentor for two hours minimum per month, for a year
    • Be proactive in driving the mentoring relationship and setting its direction
    • Participate in around 1.5 hours of pre-matching training
    • Complete interim and end-of-programme surveys
    • Develop and submit goals to be worked on with their mentor
    • Adhere to our Mentoring Women in Business program.

    ECOWAS Women and Clean Energy Scholarship 2024 | Fully Funded

    The ECOWAS Women and Clean Energy Scholarship has been designed to contribute to the objectives of the ECOWAS Policy for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access.

    The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) has received funding of CAD 1.5 million from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, to implement a project entitled Women and Clean Energy in West Africa (WOCEWA).

    The project is specifically aimed at achieving the policy objective of gender mainstreaming in the private sector and increasing women’s participation as consumers and suppliers of clean energy.

    With this in mind, the WOCEWA Scholarship and Green Jobs Program project initiative has been strengthened to create a pool of future women in the energy sector.

    By offering scholarships, in combination with automatic internship placement in ECOWAS energy institutions and agencies, ECREEE aims to address the low participation of women in the energy sector.

    The WOCEWA Scholarship covers applicant’s tuition fee, health insurance, and a laptop computer.

    Additionally, scholars are offered a fully funded internship opportunity covering travel, insurance, and monthly stipends.

    Eligibility Requirements 

    To be considered for the WOCEWA Scholarship 2024, you must:

    • Be a citizen of one of the ECOWAS Member States.
    • Applicants must have obtained a registration in the first year of master’s degree in one university on institution in West Africa.
    • Be female with background in STEM having an energy focus.
    • The maximum age to apply for this scholarship is 32 years old at the end of year 2024.
    • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5/5, i.e., Upper Second-Class (equivalent of an average of 14/20 for the francophone system)
    • Does not have an existing scholarship from another organization.
    • N.B: Any false declaration will result in a permanent suspension of support.

    Benefits

    WOCEWA Scholarship will be follow as:

    • The scholarship has a maximum value of US$3200 per year for a maximum of two (2) years per person.
      The funds may cover:
    • Tuition fee and health insurance
      Tuition fees and health insurance are capped at US$2500.

      • Fees will be paid directly by ECREEE to the training institution.
      • If the tuition fees and health insurance exceed this amount, the applicant is responsible for the remaining balance.
      • Conversely, if the tuition is below the maximum, any excess funds will be transferred to the applicant.
    • A computer with a maximum value of US$700
    • The Internship program at ECREEE or one of ECOWAS institutions in the energy sector. will last for six (6) months covering travel, insurance and subsistence. The intern will receive a monthly stipend of $800 to cover expenses.

    FATE Foundation in partnership with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, is pleased to announce the launch of the Road to Growth Programme 2024 for Female entrepreneurs leading a business in Ogun State who want to experience Increased Confidence and Capacity in Business.

    The program is funded by Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and other partners. Road to Growth equips women entrepreneurs in low and middle-income countries with business skills, financial literacy, networks, and confidence so they can achieve business growth.

    The program aims to support 40 women Entrepreneurs running businesses in Ogun State to break through barriers and support them to succeed.

    Selection Process

    The Road to Growth program is a  7-week hybrid Programme, that will take place 8-10 hours per week on the Learning Management System (LMS), Virtual Class sessions, WhatsApp Group sessions, and In-person sessions, using innovative classroom management tools.

    Lectures will be delivered in modules that afford participants the flexibility of time to run their businesses, while they participate in the program.

    The core part of the program will include the following modules:
