2025 International Education Scholarship by Government of Ireland (GOI-IES)
Planning to Study in Ireland on a Scholarship? The applications are open to apply for the Ireland Government International Education Scholarship 2025 (GOI-IES).
This Scholarship is for international students to pursue a Master’s, Postgraduate Diploma, or PhD programs from the Irish Universities.
The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship is managed by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), on behalf of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
Following a competitive process based on an annual call for proposals from individual applicants, the HEA will approve a defined number of scholarships under the scheme to successful applicants.
Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships will be awarded to high calibre students from non-EU/EEA countries to study full-time in Ireland for a period of one year.
The GOI-IES Scholarship is Funded by the Irish government and the Irish higher education Institutions (HEI). Under this call, 60 scholarships will be given for one year of full-time study at the Irish Universities. The Irish GOI-IES Scholarship 2025 is open to applicants from any field.
Final-year undergraduate students can also apply. Applicants must apply online before the deadline in an eligible Irish Higher Educational Institute.

2025 International Education Scholarship by Government of Ireland RequirementsÂ
In order to be eligible for a Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship, applicants must;
- Have a domiciliary of origin outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
- Apply for admission to a relevant master’s, postgraduate diploma or PhD programme offered by an eligible higher education institution as per that institution’s admission procedures.
- Have a conditional or final offer of admission to that higher education institution at the time of application and will be required to submit a copy of same.
Prospective candidates who have previously held a GOI-IES scholarship are not eligible to apply.
Benefits
The Ireland Government GOI-IES Scholarship will cover:
- Stipend: Scholars will receive a €10,000 stipend to cover living expenses and other study-related costs.
- Tuition Waiver: Full tuition and registration fees will be waived by the University.
Durations
- One-Year Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded for one academic year only.
- No Extensions: The scholarship cannot be extended beyond the initial one-year period.
- Single Award: Once you have received funding for one year, you are not eligible to reapply for a second year.
Method of Application for the 2025 International Education Scholarship by Government of Ireland
To apply for the Ireland International Education Scholarship,
- Potential applicants should read the call documentation carefully to ascertain whether they are eligible to apply.
- Applications must be submitted via the online portal.
- All applications require two references to be uploaded by the applicants via the online portal.
- It is recommended that candidates submit their applications well before the deadline, to avoid technical issues due to heavy server traffic on the respective day.
- Applications cannot be submitted once the deadline has passed. No alterations can be made to an application once it has been submitted.
