Applications are now open for the World IP Day 2025 Youth Video Competition. The World IP Day 2025 Youth Video Competition honors the importance of music and intellectual property rights in our lives.

Individuals or groups are invited to submit a 60- to 90-second video that depicts the relationship between music, intellectual property rights, innovation, and creativity as they shape our future.

The competition’s theme is “Tuning in with the music of innovation and creativity”. Consider how intellectual property rights promote innovation and creativity in music.

How do intellectual property rights benefit music creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs? How does innovation influence the future of music? Get creative and tune in to the music of innovation and creativity to win big prizes!

Prizes

  • First Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 4,000
  • Second Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 3,000
  • Third Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 1,000
  • The People’s Choice Prize: Digital equipment valued at up to CHF 1,500
  • Top 20 entries: The top 20 winning entries will benefit from training opportunities offered by the WIPO Academy.

Eligibility

  • Entries can be submitted by individuals or groups of individuals. You may enter one individual entry, or you may join with your friends and submit a group entry, but you cannot do both.
  • Individual entries must be submitted by individuals aged between 18 and 35 years old at the time application is submitted.
  • Group entries may include up to 10 participants, with at least one member being no older than 35 years old at the time the application is submitted.

Entry Requirements

  • Your video is in MP4 format and is between 60-90 seconds long.
  • Your video does not contain any subtitles or captions.
  • Your video may include audio narrative in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish.
  • Your video has not been published previously online, nor recognized and/or won an award in another competition.
  • If your video features background music, you must supply proof of authorization to use such recordings.
  • Your video must not violate any copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, industrial designs, distinctive signs, contractual obligations, or any other IP rights, or other proprietary rights of any third party.

Application

  • Submit your video entry before March 16, 2025, 23:59 CET
  • Vote for the People’s Choice Prize from April 4-14, even if you didn’t submit a video!
  • Tune in for the announcement of the winners on April 25, 2025
