Job Summary
- We are seeking a talented and driven Product Design Intern to join our innovative team in revolutionizing healthcare delivery in Africa.
- This internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in designing user-centric digital solutions that seamlessly integrate complex healthcare functionalities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, requirements, and pain points across various healthcare segments.
- Conceptualize and design intuitive user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) for our comprehensive digital healthcare platform, including patient registration, electronic medical records (EMRs), remote consultations, and data sharing capabilities.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design concepts and solutions.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements to enhance the platform’s accessibility, ease of use, and overall user satisfaction.
- Ensure design consistency and adherence to established branding guidelines and best practices across multiple platforms and devices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies in the healthcare industry, and apply them to create innovative and impactful solutions.
Requirements
- Alignment with personal goal: Passion for healthcare technology and a desire to make a positive impact on healthcare accessibility and quality in Africa. (If you have no interest in improving healthcare, this is not for you).
- Proficient in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, including user-centered design, information architecture, and accessibility guidelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and visually appealing designs.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in designing healthcare-related applications or systems.
- Knowledge of web and mobile app design standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with data visualization techniques and experience designing complex data-driven interfaces.
- Proficiency in prototyping tools.
