The Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) aims to contribute to cultivate future national leaders in Asian and other countries, to contribute to establish friendly relationship among various countries.
The Japan Government YLP Scholarship aims to improve policy planning activities by forming a network among national leaders through deepening their understanding of Japan.
The YLP is one of the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programs.
The MEXT Young Leaders Program targets young professionals in public administration, business, law, and healthcare who are expected to play active roles as future national leaders.
The MEXT Young Leaders Program sponsored by the Japanese Government offers full exemption from tuition, round-trip airfare, and a monthly allowance of 242,000 JPY per month.

Eligibility Requirements for MEXT Young Leaders Program 2025
To be considered for the Japan Government YLP Scholarship, you must:
- be citizens of eligible countries.
- be below 40 years old as of the start date of the course.
- meet the English Language proficiency requirements
- have measurable work experience in the field of law, business, healthcare, or public administration.
