Job Summary
As a Homecare Registered Nurse at The Bliss Caregivers, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients. This position requires you to deliver personalized nursing care tailored to each client’s unique needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Healthcare Documentation:Â Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and reports.
- Medication Administration:Â Safely administer prescribed medications to clients.
- Care Planning:Â Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Environmental Hygiene: Ensure the client’s immediate surroundings are clean and conducive to recovery or daily living.
- Specialized Care:Â Provide advanced care as needed, including:
- Wound dressing and care.
- NG (Nasogastric) tube feeding.
- Tracheostomy care.
- Bed bathing and oral hygiene.
- Oxygen administration.
- Urinary catheter placement and care.
- PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube management.
- Pressure area care and frequent repositioning to prevent bedsores.
- Hospital Visits:Â Accompany clients to hospital appointments or emergencies.
- Physical Assistance:Â Help clients with mobility, exercises, and daily living activities.
- Companionship: Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ mental well-being.
- Vital Signs Monitoring:Â Regularly check and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- Licensing:
- Valid nursing license and registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience:
- At least 1-2 years in clinical or homecare settings.
- Hands-on experience in specialized care procedures (e.g., wound care, tracheostomy care) is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in administering medications and managing personalized care plans.
- Strong understanding of infection control and hygiene protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and their families.
- Competency in using medical devices (e.g., NG tubes, oxygen equipment, urinary catheters).
- Ability to monitor and interpret vital signs with precision.
- Organizational skills for maintaining detailed records and time management.
- Personal Traits:
- Empathetic, patient, and attentive to client needs.
- Physically fit to assist with mobility and perform physical tasks.
- Calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid certification.
