Job Description

  • Title: Intern – Label A&R (In-Person, Paid)

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the live entertainment and music industries. The focus will be on Artists and Repertoire (A&R), studio recording, and release planning. It’s an excellent stepping stone into artist management or a senior A&R role.

Ideal candidates will have a basic understanding of the music industry and a keen interest in pursuing a career in Artists and Repertoire (A&R). A love for listening to indie and unsigned artists is essential.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet research are required.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the coordination of record production, working with stakeholders like artists, mixing and mastering engineers, and studio managers.
  • Covering studio sessions.
  • Coordinating detailed bi-weekly A&R research reports and scouting projects.
  • Monitoring and reporting on domestic and international music charts.
  • Assisting the Label manager with tasks such as tracking album status charts, transcribing and reviewing lyrics, and reviewing clean audio.
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure artist projects are completed and submitted on time.
  • Researching new artists through various means like shows, radio play, blogs, charts, demos, word-of-mouth, etc.

Candidates must have exceptional interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks while working independently. Being detail-oriented, proactive, and able to adhere to deadlines is crucial. Experience in handling confidential information is a must.

The role requires a team player, creative thinker, and effective communicator who is highly motivated, organized, able to work independently, and has a proactive attitude. Applicants must be comfortable sharing ideas with internal teams.
