Oribi runs this programme, which is powered by AfriFOODlinks and based in Cape Town. Its mission is to enable and support the development of early-stage entrepreneurs into successful social entrepreneurs in the agri-food sector.
The program also focuses on implementing a circular business model. This approach seeks to promote inclusive growth and food system transformation in South Africa.

- Through the AfriFOODlinks Incubation Programme, selected entrepreneurs will gain access to a support system and network designed to help them thrive. This includes mentorship from industry experts, coaching sessions to address specific challenges, networking opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations, and grant funding to scale their social enterprises.
Selection process:
- 4 March 2024 – Application Launch
- 18 April 2024 – Application closes
- May 2024 – 1st shortlisting – 100 candidates will be shortlisted to enter the ‘FOODATHON’ selection process.
- From this group, 15 candidates will be selected to enter the 9 month incubation programme in the second half of 2024
